RAW MATERIALS:
The main raw material used in manufacture of “Asbestos Cement Products” is “Asbestos Fibers”. There are mainly two varieties of Asbestos viz. “SERPNTINE” & “AMPHIBOLE” Variety. SERPNTINE variety is popularly known as white asbestos and is known as Chrysotile. The variety used by RURPL for manufacture of “A.C. Product” is “Chrysotile” Variety. This Chrysotile variety of asbestos is mined & imported from “Brasil and Russia”, which is usually 09% of the total raw material required, the quantities of raw materials consumption are as indicated below in Table.
The factory required water for continuous processing, curing of sheets, and washing of areas in around the sheet machine and for consumption of personnel working in different shifts.
SURFACE WATER
The two main rivers that cross the project corridor include Kanhan and Jam. Jam river flows mostly through the Sausar region and joins with the Kanhan River. Both the rivers are Perennial.

GROUND WATER
Ground water is the major source for manufacturing in the projects in Chhindwara Districts. The pre monsoon depth to water level range during 2006 is 3.65m (min) and 15.75m (max).The post monsoon depth to water level range during 2006 is 0.60m (min) and 15m (max).
For production of about 200 tonnes of sheets per day, maturing the products and for human consumption, the requirement of water was be around 70,000 liters per day. The water required was fulfilled by the M.P.A.V.N.L., Borgaon Industrial Growth Centre. Also the company has 2 bore wells sunk for this purpose to ensure water supply even at draught condition
